We'll meet at the indicated time at the Praia Grande pier and begin our free walking tour through the historic centre of the state capital of São Luís do Maranhão, one of the most charming and historically rich places in Brazil.
The city is the gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's home to colonial streets full of magic, legends, and history.
During this free tour of São Luís, we'll pass by the main attractions of the city, such as the Palácio dos Leões, which houses the Government House; Plaça dos Poetas, where the viewpoint of the São Marcos Bay is located, and Rua Portugal, the street with the most beautiful views of São Luís. Get your camera ready to take lots of pictures!
Of course, we'll visit the Market of Tulhas, which specialises in products from Maranhão. Next, we'll admire the architecture of the imposing houses with Portuguese tiles and pass by the Reggae Museum. We'll also visit the São Luís Cathedral and Beco Catarina Mina Alley, where we'll see stone carvings, a staircase, places to eat, and many shops.
Finally, after a tour lasting between 2 hours and 15 minutes and 2.5 hours, we'll say goodbye in the centre of São Luís and end the free tour.
